CARRIER JOHNSON ARCHITECTS
The Gallery on Venice
(ON-THE-BOARDS)
The project site, located at the southwest corner of Venice Boulevard and Western Avenue, is currently improved with a 115,000-square-foot retail center with tenants that include Food 4 Less, CVS Pharmacy, and Fallas Paredes. The Gallery on Venice will be a 180-unit development including 18 apartments set aside for extremely-low-income households. Its close proximity to public transportation — two miles away from the Wilshire/Normandie Metro station — allows the project to classify under Tier 3 of the Transient Oriented Communities program.
The building is described as modern industrial and will feature large storefront glass windows and local street artist murals painted on the outside of the building, in keeping with the urban theme. Amenity spaces will include a Lounge/Game Room, Co-working space, Clubroom that opens up to the podium level outdoor lounge area, as well as a Fitness enter. Along with all of the interior amenities, this building will feature a lot of outdoor living space to enjoy that Southern California sunshine. This project is set to be completed in late 2022.
